(BOISE) – Caprock, a multi-family office with offices in Boise, Idaho, San Jose, California, Newport Beach, California, Seattle, Washington and Park City, Utah, today announced the addition of Jefferson Jewell as Vice President and Client Advisor. Jewell, who most recently founded, grew, and sold a regional software development firm to a large international IT consulting company, will advise clients across the firm’s footprint, based out of the Boise office.
Early in his career, Jefferson practiced corporate law, M&A, and project finance for Stoel Rives, LLP, where he gained valuable transactional and international finance experience. In addition, in 2009, he was appointed by the Governor of the State of Idaho to chair a working group tasked with accelerating regional innovation and technology transfer.
His experience includes advising venture capital and private equity firms as well as serving on the board of directors of multiple venture-backed startups. He also currently serves on the board of the foundation for Idaho’s largest health system.
“Jefferson’s breadth and depth of experience uniquely position him to understand exactly the kind of advice that our clients require for the management of their balance sheets,” said Bill Gilbert, a Managing Director in Caprock’s Boise office. “He’s a proven talent and we’re pleased to add another advisor who strengthens our ability to offer the very best management services to our families.”
Jewell will focus on advising families, entrepreneurs, and executives helping them successfully navigate the complex opportunities and challenges in the financial marketplace.
“After selling my company I searched for a wealth management firm to advise my family. The stockbrokers and advisors I met with were all the same. They offered various ways to buy products that invested in the public markets. What I wanted, however, was a firm that provides unbiased advice and a coherent strategy for my entire balance sheet—including public securities and private investments. Caprock immediately rose to the top of my list because of its unique approach and outstanding people. Though initially my intention was limited to becoming a Caprock client, I am thrilled to be joining the firm.”
Jewell is a graduate of UCLA, and was a John M. Olin, Student Scholar of Law and Economics at Cornell Law School. He lives in Boise with his wife and three children.
