When I am not at work, you might find me… At a local restaurant playing trivia. When I was a kid we would go on cruises with my extended family and a cornerstone of these trips would be the trivia. Due to the six-person maximum, per team, and being a younger kid I was always on the B-team. Regardless, there was something captivating about working together to solve difficult problems. As such, I am constantly refining my skills and hoping to earn my spot on the A-team.
If I could be anywhere… I would be on a lake fishing. While I am certainly not the best fisherman (in fact my brother constantly reminds me that “I can’t even catch a fish at the supermarket”) there is nothing better, and more relaxing, than sitting on a boat with a line in the water.
If I had a personal motto, it would be.. “Showing up is half the battle.” This is something a basketball coach told me that always stuck. It reminds me that while I may not know everything if I make an effort, and try my best, I will continue to get better and move forward.
My favorite quote is… “Have fun storming the castle.” This is something my brother, sister, and I would regularly say to each other before embarking on new tasks (taking an exam) or starting a new chapter in our lives (when my sister moved to Switzerland). The expression reminds us to embrace whatever lies ahead and, most importantly, have fun doing it.
