I’m a seasoned investor across all asset classes, but my specialty is risk. During the global financial crisis, I led a firm’s risk practice. That experience left a lasting impression on me, and I now find myself continually evaluating what can go wrong and how to skew the risk and reward in our favor more than the upside of an investment.
In my early 20s, I ran the rainy-day fund for The Robin Hood Foundation. I did this pro bono, and although it was a lot of work, I was able to see the impact of what compounding money could do for change and the greater good of the community. I often reflect on this previous work while I work with foundations, endowments, and private clients.
When I was looking to join a new team, there were two building blocks that I was seeking: family orientation and cultural like-mindedness. I found that at Caprock, above everything else, people care about each other and the families they serve, and that really resonated with me.
