David Solow

Managing Director, Client Advisor

About

My career began as a corporate attorney, primarily representing family-owned businesses. Through building close relationships with my clients, I quickly realized that I wanted to help advise families on their most impactful decisions, not just the legal implications of their businesses.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of my work is the variety from day to day. My clients range from very sophisticated large families and institutions to families with less complexity and everything in between. Providing customized guidance to each client in a changing market and tax environment brings me immense satisfaction. Additionally, I act as a partner to help families think through their most important financial decisions, providing context to determine what is truly important in the long term.

I worked closely with a husband and wife for a number of years. The husband, a very prominent and long-time Fortune 500 CEO, tragically passed away. I found myself not only in the role of family advisor who had to help lead financial tasks but also was part of the mourning process for the family. Over time, I was there to provide support as his widow adjusted to a new life. It was one of the hardest, most meaningful, and most rewarding chapters in my career.
